Sundays are supposed to be the day of rest. When I was working in retail, there really was no difference between a Sunday or a Thursday. Now that I’m working for a school district and I actually have weekends off, I am so grateful that I get to stay in my pajamas all day and watch the previous nights SNL episode. I’ve created some Sunday rituals to help me get through this lockdown and feel productive.

  1. French Press Coffee

French Press Coffee tastes the best in my opinion, but it takes such a long time to clean up. Sunday is the only day that I make no plans, so I have ample time to clean afterwards.

2. Watch SNL

I watch reruns and different segments of Saturday night live on YouTube every single night. It is the only show I can watch on repeat without getting bored. So every time there’s a new episode, I immediately watch it the next morning on the Peacock app.

3. Cleaning

I spend Sunday usually cleaning up after a long week of ignoring responsibilities. This is the day were a change sheets, make my bed for the first time, and vacuum my floors. Some people find this to be a chore but I find it to be so relaxing at the endpoint.

4. Laundry

At this point in my week, I have run out of clean sweatpants and giant sweatshirts. Typically, Sunday is the day.

5. Exercise//Stretching

Let’s be honest, I work out every single day. But on Sundays I like to just finish out my week strong. I either go for a run or I put on a YouTube guided yoga video to help me stay focused and continue forward. There is just too much time in the week where I wished I had stretched more.

6. Lighting a candle // Aromatherapy

I always air out my room and light a candle, usually from EmeraldHearthCreations.com. I personally love Siren of the Sea.

7. Writing

I almost always write a blog post or short story on Sundays. Something about the slower vibe makes me more creative and vibing.

8. Online Shopping/Browsing

2021 will be the year of no spending, but I have two weeks left in 2020 to spend on my growing graphic tee collection. But really, I usually just browse and fill my cart with things
I don’t need/can’t afford and then close all tabs.

9. Rewatch Jenna Marbles Videos

Let’s face it, she is a queen of bizzare DIY projects and light hearted comedy. I’ve been watching her since I was in high school and I have been in love with her ever since. I don’t understand how people can go years without knowing that she makes video content, especially with her 10+ years on youtube.

10. Paint/Draw/Take Photos

After moving back into my parents house, I have now accumulated some furniture from craigslist and it has been so important to me to repaint all of it. If I’m not repainting furniture, then I am doodling, or I am pretending that I know how to read. Sometimes I even get dolled up and take photos of myself.

That’s my list of Sunday rituals. Comment below if you have different rituals that get you in the Sunday vibe!
