Running to Success

A lot of good has been happening in my world and it makes me so happy that I have to share bits and pieces at the very least. I was recently hired after 5 weeks of being unemployed with 0 cash flow/stable income. In the midst of a pandemic, I was denied unemployment and I had a mental breakdown trying to figure out how to get any form of work. I applied everywhere in the first weeks of losing my jobs, and I thought that there was a major issue when I got no calls or emails back, but then I received three emails with interview opportunities. I took them immediately.

I was ultimately rejected from a job that was an hour commute from my house, and I thought that it was a blessing in disguise. The company was cool, management seemed chill, but working minimum wage retail was not top of my list if I would have to fill my gas tank twice a week. I then got a call from a major corporation (no names because Privacy) and went in for an interview right away. I was told in the first interview to stick around and then was immediately hired, on the spot. I just had my last interview with a completely different job (again, privacy) and I am waiting to hear back from them on if I was hired.

I also have gotten back into working out which had been a major struggle during this pandemic after I packed on 20lbs. I have run every single day for a week, and I plan to keep going for as long as possible. My secret has been to not push myself over the edge or keep track of distance or time, I just put my headphones in and run. When I feel like I need to stop, I stop and do squats or step-ups, and then I will either walk back or run back. I have been able to run further and further each time I step outside, and I can feel my body getting stronger. My brain feels clearer and like I can take on anything, within reason :).

I think there is a sort of magic in the air right now. I am being granted a new life with so many opportunities that I am spinning from the love that the universe has sent me. I have a writing internship (https://digitizingpolitics.com/) and a 4.0 in my first semester back in school, and I am finally employed! The world is a beautiful place, and thank you for reading this blog and supporting me. It has changed my world.
